In this tech age there is so much to learn and discover to make our tech experience easier. I wanted to share this info because I want to save you some time and headache’s. If you have some of your own tech tips to share that will help our community, please post them in the comments box below.
Do you transfer large files on a regular basis? Tired of hard to use interfaces or systems that take forever to use? A few weeks ago I was introduced to DropBox, and I LOVE it! It’s super easy, acting just like any other folder on your computer. You can start a large file transfer and walk away – nothing to click to confirm! …and it’s FREE.
Have you ever wanted to snap a picture of your computer screen to show someone and didn’t know how? Well there is a great solution called Screencast.com. It is a TechSmith product for business and academic professionals looking to manage and share videos, images, documents, or anything else online. Screencast.com’s high-quality content-hosting gives you complete control over how, when and to whom your content is distributed. There is a basic version 2G, is FREE, the Pro Version which is what I have is only $99 year.
I use the screen capture tool called JING all the time to explain visually to my tech support people exactly what I want done, I use it to share anything I see online that I might want to share. I create 2 minute video’s sharing something on my screen – its a tool I can’t live without.
Do you struggle with technology? Can’t figure out how to update your WordPress Site, or create an autoresponder or sales page to promote something you’ve got going on-line? I get it because I have the same tech issues. There is lots of tech help if you check with your local networking groups, referral from a friend who knows a Geek or you find a referral on Twitter. I use Web Support Team for my tech projects and you are welcome to contact them as well. They are reasonably priced and what I love the most is that you buy a certain amount of tasks per month and if you don’t use them all they roll-over to the next month! Just like that cell phone commercial where you roll over minutes. Pretty cool.
Do you have dozens and dozens of passwords to remember? I sure do, and my memory isn’t as good as it used to be and I have some written down but some of those user names and passwords get changed and misplaced. Finally I researched the various technologies to manage mine on line and I want to share what I have found. I decided to use Roboform, they offer a free trial and then it’s only $29.95
Here are some other companies; Keepass – Keepass, Sxipper – Sxipper,
LastPass – LastPass, Clipperz – Clipperz
